Tooling Designer

The Tooling Designer will use functions to design molds and fixtures using 3D CAD software. This includes determining and establishing specifications through engineering calculations and layouts. Communicate with vendors to obtain information and assistance with customer engineers and co-workers to develop and improve designs.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Design transfer and injection molds for rubber parts
  • Design tooling, EDM electrodes and fixtures required to support manufacturing
  • Confer with customer engineers to develop mold design
  • Confer with co-worker technical staff to develop and improve designs
  • Prepare 3D part models, assemblies and detailed drawings
  • Use computer assisted engineering and designing software and equipment to perform engineering and design tasks


Minimum qualification requirements:

High School Diploma, Degree in Engineering/Engineering Technology preferred

Expert using Solid Works or other CAD software required.

Two years minimum experience in rubber and/or plastic mold design

Experience on shop floor operating CNC milling and turning centers

Experience as machinist/mold maker
